Areas of Competition
Each delegate must create an online presence to showcase the following: Community Service Appearance (2), Social Cause Appearance (2), and wellness appearances (2). Delegates must provide a viewable link for The Cultural Beauty PSA.
Please note it is up to the delegate to make sure that all links are working.
The final application to submit to the judging panel will be available on this for confirmed delegate who enter before the deadline of December 5th.
Judges will be instructed to look for the following:
Did the delegate make required appearances?
Did the delegate list date, name of event for community service appearance ?
Did the delegate clearly state why she chose her social cause & what she has done with the cause?
Did the delegate offer an inspiring message in her PSA?
Did the delegate select 2 items for achievement? Did the delegate clearly state how she will pay her achievement forward?
Did the delegate clearly state why she chose her wellness cause & what she has done with the cause?
Service (20 points)
Each delegate will be required to complete two community serive appeareance during her time as a state/regional title holder.
Requirement: Two (2) appearances related that are community service related.* Delegate may not count previous appearance for the required two.
Social Cause (20 points)
You have something to say and we want to hear it! Each delegate must choose a social cause (cause) for change. It maybe an already established issue or you can create your own.
Requirement: Two (2) appearances related to your cause. * Delegate may not count previous appearance for the required two.
Cultural Beauty (20 points)
Delegates will be required to create a 3-5 minute PSA video targeted to black girls encouraging them to celebrate their beauty.
Requirement: Delegate must appear in the video. Delegate must be wearing sash in video. Delegate must state title (including year) in video.
Cultural Achievement (20 points)
Each delegate will be required to select two (2) areas of achievement that she is proud of to showcase to the judging team from the list below. Delegate may list achievements for the last five (5) years only.
Achievement areas: Education, The Arts, Science/Technology, Community Service, Career, Health/Fitness
Requirement: Delegate must select two areas. Delegate must list year of achievement. Delegate must cleary state how she will use her achievements to "Pay it Forward"
Wellness (20 points)
Each delegate will be required to select one area of Health/Wellness that she would like to raise awarness for in the Black Community.
Requirement: Two (2) appearances related to your wellness cause. * Delegate may not count previous appearance for the required two.* If delegates selects a wellness topic for social cause issue the delegate must pick an additonal wellness issue.
